I am not what you would call a morning person, but because of my desire to not loose my mind by 9am I wake up before the rooster crows.
My son is a morning person. Actually he’s a morning, afternoon and evening person, so I have learned that when he wakes up it’s “game on.” My daughter on the other hand is much more like her parents. She slowly greets the morning, and is in no hurry to do anything.
I do remember a prayer I had made in the beginning days of being a Christian, and that was to be a person who enjoyed seeing the sun rise. I usually laugh out loud when I recall that, because God surely has a sense of humor. He knew I needed a big reason, and my children became my motivation. I now wake up, get myself ready for the day, and spend those first few hours of morning alone. I have tried putting my workout into the morning, but like I said I am not a morning person. I think I am really a women wholly committed to making life work, and if that requires sacrificing some sleep I’ll do it.
This routine has not happened overnight nor does it work perfectly everyday, but I can always tell the difference when I do get up verses the days when I sleep to long. I never feel rested on those other days when my family has to wait for me.
