In 3 days the world will unite in Vancouver for the Winter Olympic Games of 2010. I for one will be glued to my television set as the opening ceremony begins, when the closing ceremony ends, and everything in between. I love the Olympics.
When I was a kid I used to watch with high expectations of being there on the podium with a gold meddle around my neck. I did not care what activity I won I just wanted to be an athlete.
Here I am at 30 years old and I still long to be an athlete. To be recognized for an accomplishment in training and perseverance. I think that’s why I have chosen to run races and try for a $10,000 winners price in PN.
When you read the stories behind the athletes many of them come from hard back grounds. They wern’t all perfect in there sport, in fact some where the worst, but they had the heart to be the best.
Maybe that’s really all you need to be great in anything, heart. Sure I’m way overweight, but I have the heart to succeed in weight loss, and do my best to win this Lean Eating Challenge.
Do you have something in your life that you think you have to be born with some extra brain, lunge, or skill to be great at? Most people aren’t born great, they become great, and the Olympics are full of those people with amazing heart.
