I have bought and planned enough meals that I think this should come like second nature to me, however with our new focus on Nourishing foods I feel like I am fresh off the boat.
Today after church I loaded the kids in the car and set out to our closest health food store for a little shopping. After a tour of each aisle and refereeing who can push the cart we ended up with a pretty good start to our week.
Let me say, I have not bought flour sense I deemed eggs horrible for you and the thought of baking anything was just to depressing. Therefore I was so excited to buy organic whole wheat flour to begin our sourdough starter. Sugar was another evil, however this is an organic sugar from Florida that is cup for cup the same as regular. I bought our normal staples but in the full fat, right from the animal or ground food.

Yes that is Raw milk [insert GASP]. It is so delicious and it is all mine, for now.
Grass fed beef and happy chickens are also on this weeks menu. What is our menu you ask? That is for tomorrow. 🙂
What are the kids going to eat?
I can hear you asking yourself that question, and I can assure you my kids are pretty used to healthier food then most kids their age. We don’t have sugary cereals in the house, no chips or cookies, no soda or fruit juice, so asking them to eat the most yummy-good-for-your-body foods; my guess is they will not complain.
All together we spent a little over 100 dollars, but I had a few non grocery items that were an annoying necessity. I think I did pretty good.
