Books, Books, Books!

Who doesn’t love books?

The smell of books

The possibilities of a new book

Getting lost in a book

Learning from a book

Seeing stacks of books near me makes me happy

Book lists and crossing off the boxes

and a new month with new possibilities

Being a homeschooling mom I don’t think it comes as a surprise to anyone that books are awesome, and I have stacks of them everywhere. What might be more surprising is that I read a handful of books at a time. I don’t think I plan for it to happen but my book list has something for every part of my brain to enjoy.

When I want to escape to a far off place I can pick up my copy of Lord of the Rings and enjoy being in a new land. If I am feeling rather curious about the education I am giving my children I have Norms and Nobility sitting next to me. I read cookbooks from start to finish as if they were a great novel, and of course, I need to stay up on my sons reading list so I have the latest on his book list as well. I have classics I am slowly reading, like The Tale of Two Cities, and Little Women with my daughter from time to time.

With all these books around me, some half done, I am going to give myself a challenge for the month of November. Therefore in writing this post I am showing you my stack and hoping you will keep me accountable to read them.

November is a great month for such a challenge. The weather is getting colder and the nights are coming sooner, so what could be better than a good book to end the day with? My plan is to put aside binge watching tv, and pick up a book instead.

Here is my pick for Novembers book stack.

The Hiding Place

This one is on my sons reading list and mine as his teacher/tutor. I have read it once before but it is a great book filled with thoughtful insights.

The Keto Diet Book

I told you I read cookbooks like novels and this one is no exception. After my surgery, my doctor told me there were two things I needed to start doing. One is to take a good glucosamine supplement and lose weight. I am reading this book and will be following the plan.

Tale of Two Cities

I have been reading this book all summer! I even purchased a cliff notes books to help me understand what I was reading. The easiest option is to put this book away for life but I just can’t do that. I will read this classic before the end of the year.

Eve in Exile

This book is an easy top 5 of the best books I have ever read list and I am going to read it again. Slower this time, and savor what she is saying. To be a woman in 2018 means a lot of different things to different people, but hearing Gods view never changes.

Uniquely set apart for this season of my life as a fire-wife, homeschooling mom, and Christian women my writing is a reflection of all that makes me, me.
