Last week I attended the free Parent Practicum for Classical Conversations with my campus. We had a great time, and on the third day we were given a poetry assignment. I thought it was such a clever poem that I am posting it here.
The assignment was to grab the first item from your purse or bag and write a poem about it using alliteration, personification, rhyme, simile, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, authority and a question (in that order). This is what we came up with using the Tin Whistle.
Which Whiney Whistle
pokes my nerves, pierces my mind
thistle, whistle where is my pistol
like a hangover
beep! honk! eeeek!
this is not an exaggeration
ask any CC tutor
Who’s idea was this anyway?
If you have not attended a Parent Practicum yet this season, you are in luck as the season has just begun. I will be speaking in Roseville California in July.
