My Plexus Journey Continues..

I am blown away by the small but mighty changes Plexus has done to my body. There was a time not that long ago that I would go on vacation and just know that my body was going into hibernation mode. My digestive track was asleep and unfortunately I became ok with waiting days and days to use the bathroom. Now I know that is TMI but I also know I'm not alone. Many of you reading this right now have not had a decent trip to the bathroom in days or sometimes weeks. How does that make you feel?...

Week 1 on my Plexus journey.

If you have not read my first post about Plexus you can read that here. I am now done with week one of the Plexus Slim and here are the latest results. Non scale victories. Many of you might not of known that I am pretty much in constant pain of some reason. From my back hurting, to my knee being swollen, and using ibuprofen just to get moving in the morning I was a wreck. I really felt like that was completely normal for me until Slim. One of the ingredients in the Slim (Pink drink) has an anti-inflammatory...

My Plexus Slim journey.

Like so many people before me and around me I have tried everything to loose weight with very little success, but after completing the Whole30 last year I am confident I know how. It is true that there is NO magic pill, powder, or workout that will take the weight off. The secret is eating less then what you are expanding in energy. I know it's not glamorous but its the honest truth. By eating healthy I mean eating less sugar, trans fats, and other processed junk that you could name in your sleep. So you might be wondering why...

I Can See the Finish Line. #Whole30

All is well here! I know I had committed to daily blogging about my journey on the Whole30 challenge, but as usual my blog always takes a back seat. In case you were wondering about the challenge, I am doing fantastic and I can see the finish line. Seven days left! I can hardly believe I've last this long, because truthfully I didn't think anything would change. My history with diets, workouts, and supplements is that they never work, which leaves me believing something is terribly wrong with my body, however within 24 hours of the challenge I felt better....

Suffering from the “What to cook?” question!

It has been 7.5 years sense my last child was born and 2 years after her birth I began a quest to get myself back to a pre-baby body. I started with a fantastically expensive personalized program that had me working out in the gym 6 days a week in conjunction with crazy nutrition. My weight slowly began to come off, but the rigger of this program was more then I could handle. In the wake of this program and many more that followed I began to dislike anything to do with food. Confusion over what to eat and when...

Confessions of this blogger.

I am not a writer! I am sure those of you new and old to this blog are nodding their heads because you know I am not. The posts I write can have many grammar errors, lacking style, which persuades no one. I can get so self conscience about this truth that writing any post is equivalent to the dentist chair. As a homeschooling mom I am relearning a lot about the English language and writing structure, but instead of that making me a better writer I am more aware of my inability to write well. I now know what...

Move More Mondays!

Happy Monday fellow sojourners! Today is the first Monday of May and I am starting a new series called Move More Mondays. Each Monday of the week  I plan on writing out my plan to move more, thus encouraging you and myself. I know fitting in movement can feel like a monumental task when you have little ones or, like myself, teach all day, but I know it is worth making small steps. I have tried to wake up early just to workout but lets face it, I cannot function pre coffee. Therefore I decided to include my family in...

The annual Blog Party #UBP14

I am fashionably late to this party! This is my 4th year participating with the Ultimate Blog Party, and each year I read new blogs that often end up in my RSS feed on "Pulse." I started The Sierra Home Companion in the fall of 2008. I had just ran and broke my hip in the Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon in San Francisco and with nothing but time on my hands I began this blog. Over the years I have tried new themes and looks for the blog but my content has always remained the same. I write about my...
