Top 5 reasons my blog keeps changing…

Have you been to my site recently and wondered why does it look different, again!?

1: My college education was graphic design

Therefore I cannot simply write content in a space I can create differently. There are literally hundreds of ways to design a site and I truly like checking out what is new. If this makes you crazy when you come by, my suggestion is to look away.

2: I change my furniture this much too

It is a fact that I change the orientation of my furniture as much if not more then my blog. For some this is exciting as they are always surprised when they come over and for those living with me they just know to walk away.

We can totally be friends if this is you too.

    3: I am not a writer.

I wish this was a different story as I own a blog, however after years and years of blogging I think I can officially say, I am not a writer. So what is a non-writer to do with a blog but change it every so often? I trust you can understand that.

    4: Selling is for others

I want to give you surprise of content and enjoy coming to visit because you know there won’t be a bazillion adds everywhere. I have some products I absolutely love and would love you to try too but I will try not to add anything just because. I am as unique as my ever changing site and so are my adds.

5: Changing my design does not change me.

I am still a Classical Christian homeschooling mom of 2. My husband is still a fireman, which gives me a unique perspective for womanhood, and I desperately love Jesus. If any of the above resonate with you awesome, if not, that is ok too and we can connect another day.

    A Mom and a Fireman.

Here is a post from the past but still fun and very applicable. 🙂

As many of you know I am a fireman’s wife. Being a fireman’s wife is a unique position, and although lonely at times, when he is home he is all mine. There is no work taking up the kitchen table and when something breaks he’s right there to fix it. He understands more then most what being a mom looks like because I’m not so sure life at the firehouse is much different then life at home. Here is a small list of how a mom and a fireman are similar.

    • A mom and a fireman both respond to emergencies at all hours of the night.
    • A mom and a fireman both cook for large picky crowds.
    • A mom and a fireman both spend hours cleaning without someone stepping a foot inside the door.
    • A mom and a fireman can both go code 3 to the school when a sick child is waiting.
    • A mom and a fireman both have a keen sense of smell.
    • A mom and a fireman can get tough stains out of clothes.
    • A mom and a fireman probably eat faster then they should in the event the meal gets interrupted.
    • A mom and a fireman both at times have to think for someone else who is struggling to figure out the task at hand.
    • A mom and a fireman both know how to clean the bathroom.
    • A mom and a fireman know that the tender touch can ease a child’s fears.

Although we have very different jobs my fireman and I can relate in many ways. However I know that he sees things in his job that I can’t even imagine, so I don’t want to discount that although similar we are different.

At the end of the day I think we are both Rescue Heroes.

    Me and my family.

  • About,  Health

    Health update.

Did you know that acne and tummy trouble go hand in hand?

I did not! Not until I googled “itchy skin and stomach issues” and what came up surprised me. Therefore I am fully committed to “The Whole 30” program for the next 30 days. The symptoms I have I cannot confirm nor deny they are not directly related to what I’m eating, so over the next 30 days I will be documenting and cleaning out my system.

Thankfully the food looks amazing, and who doesn’t love steak, sweat potatoes and bacon? I don’t know anyone either especially not my family. The food looks fabulous, the process seems painful, but I am hopeful that this is the direction God has ultimately led me to.

Over the next 30 days I will end my day with a diary, here on my blog to keep myself accountable. The road ahead seems very long and somewhat painful. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired! 30 days will come and go and I can either be on the way to some useful wisdom or stuck in the same place I am today.

The saddest news of the whole program is Shakeology is out for 30 days. I’ve been drinking Shakeology for the better part of 3 years! There are always those people who are the exception to the rule and I have to accept that Shakeology could be hurting me instead of helping. 🙁

I am going to re-learn how to eat real food. With receipts like Southwest Scrambled Eggs, Seared Salmon Benedict, Grilled Steak with Avocado Puree, and many many more I think I should be having fun.

So here is to my journey. May God bless this road I am.

    See you tomorrow.

Fireman really doesn’t like his birthday celebrated but as the kids are getting older too they want to celebrate anyway, and so do I.

    Birthday Decorations

There had to be a bit of Hello Kitty thrown in the mix, because that was the last birthday we celebrated.

See how excited they are and it’s not even their birthday.

My reason to celebrate anything is, cake! 🙂 Chocolate and raspberry.

Happy Birthday my love! We are so happy to celebrate another year on planet earth with you.
