My Plexus Journey Continues..

I am blown away by the small but mighty changes Plexus has done to my body. There was a time not that long ago that I would go on vacation and just know that my body was going into hibernation mode. My digestive track was asleep and unfortunately I became ok with waiting days and days to use the bathroom. Now I know that is TMI but I also know I'm not alone. Many of you reading this right now have not had a decent trip to the bathroom in days or sometimes weeks. How does that make you feel?...

Taking care of yourself as a homeschool mom.

I know you are busy moving on caffeine and little sleep, but I am here to tell you to stop and take care of yourself. We as moms wear many different hats, and if we don't remove them from time to time we can implode. Taking care of myself has looked different within the stages of my kids growing up. When they were babies getting a shower was a dream I made sure to have one every day without fail. I would put the baby in the bouncer or in their high chair, depending on their age, and take a...

Week 1 on my Plexus journey.

If you have not read my first post about Plexus you can read that here. I am now done with week one of the Plexus Slim and here are the latest results. Non scale victories. Many of you might not of known that I am pretty much in constant pain of some reason. From my back hurting, to my knee being swollen, and using ibuprofen just to get moving in the morning I was a wreck. I really felt like that was completely normal for me until Slim. One of the ingredients in the Slim (Pink drink) has an anti-inflammatory...

Monday Mussings

The alarm rang and my Fitbit vibrated me awake for another Monday. It's not easy waking up even with the time change but I manage it and find my way to the coffee pot. Last Christmas I was blessed to receive a Kureig and nothing's easier then pressing a pod of Peet's Holiday blend into the machine and waiting a few minutes for fresh coffee. With my coffee in hand I sit and spend the early morning with Jesus. This is my routine every day and I choose to believe that because I've spent the morning this way I'll have...

My Plexus Slim journey.

Like so many people before me and around me I have tried everything to loose weight with very little success, but after completing the Whole30 last year I am confident I know how. It is true that there is NO magic pill, powder, or workout that will take the weight off. The secret is eating less then what you are expanding in energy. I know it's not glamorous but its the honest truth. By eating healthy I mean eating less sugar, trans fats, and other processed junk that you could name in your sleep. So you might be wondering why...

Counting my blessings.

What is working in my life today? Over the summer I started taking tennis lessons with a few of my girl friends, and as of today we still take one lesson a week and we've managed to make time for another hour of play outside of the lesson. It has been so much fun learning a new sport, and the laughter has been medicine to my soul. Our home school this year has been the most productive year so far. We have come along way from meltdowns that would last all day, and bad attitudes to kids who do their...

My morning cup of coffee.

My first cup of coffee is brewed minutes after waking up at 5am, but the second cup after my workout and before life commences is my version of bullet coffee. You must begin with good coffee. Some of you may disagree with my brewing methods and using a K-cup but it's quick and for one coffee drinker it's perfect. Major Dickenson is my coffee of choice but you can use whatever makes you happy. After the coffee has brewed I put it in my blender with two healthy scoops of collagen peptides. This particular supplement is flavorless and can be...

A Mom and a Fireman.

Here is a post from the past but still fun and very applicable. :) As many of you know I am a fireman's wife. Being a fireman's wife is a unique position, and although lonely at times, when he is home he is all mine. There is no work taking up the kitchen table and when something breaks he's right there to fix it. He understands more then most what being a mom looks like because I'm not so sure life at the firehouse is much different then life at home. Here is a small list of how a mom...

School is out!

I have been homeschooling for 6 years now and I have finally decided to take a summer off. No math in the morning, no summer worksheets, none of it. I am giving myself and my kids rest. In place of school work there will be plenty of opportunities to be creative, and even board. The electronics will be put away and we will enjoy the time to discover and play. You might be shocked to know that we have not finished our math book or our Mystery Of History curriculum or even our Botonay book and normally I would have...

Facebook Parties. The what? The why? The how?

I like many of you have had a direct sales consultant ask me if I would like to do a home party? My quick response is; "NO! My house is a mess, I don't even have a big enough house, and who would I invite, and if you only knew how bad I am at parties you might never ask me again!" We've all said it or at least thought it. Well there is a new game in town and I'm going to give you my experience with a Facebook Party (that I ran) for Thrity-One. I became a Consultant...
