Can you believe we are nearly halfway through February?
Me either!!
I don’t know where you live but if you live in Northern USA I am sure you are experiencing winter. The dark, cold, and wet days can begin to wear on even the most joyful person. What can you do today to help you avoid the winter blues?
I have 5 tips you can start today.
Winter Blues Buster One. Eat your vegetables with a healthy fat.
Why would I tell you to eat your veggies? Because vegetables and fat (avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil) are loaded with vitamins and minerals your body needs to stay warm, energized and fuller longer.
People tend to be stressed more in the winter months which puts a lot of stress on our bodies. Eating a colorful array of vegetables lowers our stress response and the fat soothes our brain.
Winter Blues Buster, Two. Get yourself dressed today.
Most of my audience is a homeschooling mom who spends the majority of her time at home. There are some moms who work from
Take a shower, put clean clothes on, fix your hair, put makeup on and wear your shoes.
I know you might not go anywhere and there is little luck that anyone will stop by, but your family is there. Show up for your family today and see if that act brightens your day.

Try on some new clothes. I personally love Stitch Fix and recommend them all the time.
Winter Blues Buster, Three. Have a summer planning party with your family.
Take this time to dream about summer. Where would you like go? When can you get time off? What is
Write it all down and make plans. Sometimes having something you can look forward to brightens your day. Planning for a trip will take your mind off the sleet that is coming down outside.

Winter Blues Buster, Four. Get moving!
Not moving out of your house. Moving your body more.
In winter we can become very lazy. Everything slows down and we take advantage of the rain/snow by not going outside and moving. So find a way to move more inside.
- YouTube has great free videos you can do in as short as 10 minutes.
- Take up one of your Beachbody Coach friends and join their monthly challenge groups.
- Dust off the treadmill that has become an overpriced coat rack.
- Clean and organize like never before. Use a new system and get to work.

Winter Blues Buster, Five. Feast on the Word of God
There is not a pill, workout, or food group that compares to the joy found in reading your Bible. I have mentioned the Bible Reading Challenge before (and I’ll link it here), and I will keep promoting this challenge.
Reading your bible changes everything! It’s not a fad or a quick fix. Having a relationship with the author and perfector of your life changes you. You begin to recognize who you are in Him, and everything (even the winter) is perfectly timed for your life.
I hope that helps you avoid or beat the winter blues. Spring and summer will be here so enough.
